This is the seventh and final issue in the successful series where we give famous ancient coins a new modern expression.

This time we travel to Delphi. This was an important ancient sanctuary in Greece, dedicated to the god Apollo. Delphi is particularly known for its famous oracle. In the Temple of Apollo, the priestess Pythia delivered her prophecies, and people from all over the Greek world came to seek advice before making political or personal decisions. Delphi was considered a religious center and was seen by the Greeks as the "navel" of the world.

The motif depicts a ram's head. In ancient Greece, this symbolized strength, sacrifice, divine protection, and fertility. It was also a common sacrificial animal in religious rituals. A ram sacrifice was considered particularly valuable and was often offered to important gods. The ram also frequently appeared on rhytons – an ancient conical drinking vessel, often shaped like an animal's head.
