Prohibition closed the bars but simultaneously opened the door to a new type of business – illegal, profitable, and dangerous. Gang wars erupted, corruption thrived, immigration and social tensions increased, and industrial expansion created opportunities for lucrative but risky ventures.

Amidst this struggle for power and wealth, one man stood above the rest – Al Capone, who became one of the most influential gangsters in Chicago's history.

This coin introduces the new series Empires of Crime, dedicated to five infamous gangsters who ruled their worlds through power. One of them is Al Capone.

He was neither a politician nor a hero, but rather a man who built his own system. His rule was based on loyalty and fear, and everyone knew that betrayal had a price.

According to stories, Capone gathered his closest men for dinner one evening. The conversation was slow, and the air was thick with tension. He rose, spoke of respect and loyalty, and suddenly a baseball bat appeared in his hands. A few blows later, everything had fallen silent – laughter, words, and breaths.

It was not an outburst of anger. It was a message: in the world of power, there is no room for weakness.
