Partially polished and gilded elements are combined with brilliant green coloring, giving the design exceptional depth, elegance, and luster. The refined proof surface also highlights even the smallest details.
The original was created in 1900 for Tsar Nicholas II as an Easter gift for his wife, Alexandra Feodorovna. Hidden inside was a working miniature of the Trans-Siberian Express that could be wound up with a golden key. Today, the famous egg is housed in the Kremlin Armory in Moscow and is considered one of Fabergé’s most important creations.
