As a silver lightning bolt cleaved the sky and the thunder of hooves echoed through the clouds, a woman appeared – her eyes burning with the fire of battle. She was a valkyrie – one of Odin's divine messengers of war and wisdom.

The name Valkyrie comes from Old Norse and means "chooser of the slain". Valkyries are often depicted as mighty warrior women riding their faithful horses, clad in gilded armour and horned helmets, with a gleaming spear in hand. They embody courage, strength and endurance on the battlefield. According to legend, their touch could restore strength to the fallen, while their presence intertwined the fate of both gods and warriors.
